Walks around Plouzané
One of the charms of the area is the large number of footpaths and the many possibilities for walks.
Coastal walks
One of the municipality’s advantages is the large number of footpaths offering a wide range of walking opportunities. The best known is of course the GR34. This coastal path from Brest runs along the Plouzané coastline from east to west: it starts at Sainte-Anne beach, passes through the port and then the Fort du Dellec to reach Minou beach. It’s a great opportunity for walkers to admire and photograph the scenery of the Brest Narrows, the Crozon peninsula, the Petit Minou lighthouse etc.
In town and in the country
From the southern part (l’Arvor) to the northern part (l’Argoat), there are numerous other paths criss-crossing the municipality, offering a chance to discover its rural, urban and maritime aspects. Many of them are used for agricultural purposes, while others, closer to the residential areas, are ideal for strolls and easy shortcuts. The urban structure of Plouzané has a wealth of paths, inherited from the sunken lanes of the « bocage » (the woodland landscape) which today link the various districts of the municipality without having to use the main roads.
Strolling or cycling through Plouzané is also an opportunity to discover the little details of its rich heritage: fountains, manor houses, crosses, chapels… The paths discreetly tell the story of the town’s past.
